How To Measure: Inside or Outside Mount

Before placing an order, be sure to decide whether you want an inside or outside mount for your shades. Inside mounts offer a finished look without hiding wood trim, while outside mounts provide better coverage.

Inside Mount

1. Measure the width at the top, middle, and bottom inside of the window, using the narrowest width as your window width.
2. Choose the exact window width, and we will reduce it by 0.4" when making the shade.
3. Select the exact window height, and we will make the shade height equal to the window height.

Outside Mount

1. Measure the width and height of the window outer frame.
2. Choose the exact shade width you need. For frame hanging, the width can be the same or smaller than the window width. For wall hanging, add at least 3-6 inches to the window width.
3. Choose the exact shade height you desire. It's recommended to add 5-10 inches to the window height.
